and how it affects your life
Sometimes, we don't realize the effect that something has on our life. We go through our days usually blindly following patterns that we have created either out of habit or influence, not thinking about what is really happening behind the scenes. We create our own realities with our thoughts, feelings, habits, words, and actions. Most of us have a tendency to believe what we are told or taught, especially by the people we have come to trust or believe we are able to trust. This pulls us away from being in control of what we experience. We are essentially in default mode. Don't you want to be the pilot in your own aircraft? I know I do. I am a firm believer in questioning everything unless it resonates with me and makes sense because even if you were taught something by someone you trust, they themselves may have been misinformed. We also say and do things from our own perspectives. What may be true for us could be false to someone else.
The Law Of Expectations basically states that what we expect is what we will experience. If you are running on default mode, you are probably going to experience plenty of what you don't actually want to experience. Since human beings are creatures of habit, we have picked up so much from our outer world starting from childhood. A good portion of what we have absorbed tends to automatically become negative. Ever been around a group of people that are complaining and somehow find yourself doing the exact same thing? We also have a tendency to repeat the same negative or traumatic stories to everyone we talk to. Why do we do this? Perhaps we don't have anything else to talk about or we want to relate to that person, either way it's time to change our way of living in default mode. It's time to expect more out of ourselves and our lives. It's time to expect the best possible scenario.
Ever hear someone say that they are leary of too many good things happening to them because they are just waiting for something bad to occur? That means that they are expecting something bad to happen which is exactly what they will get. Now, if you have been living in that negative state for so long then it will take some constant work on your part to change your expectations to the positive. Here is where we create new habits. Think of a scenario that you are facing or would like to occur:
-Imagine how you would like it to go( think it, see it, feel it, hear it, smell it)
-Write it down in great detail and go back and reread it when you wake up and before you go to sleep
-Every single time the situation pops into your head, revert back to what you envisioned(best case scenario)
Do these until you have trained your brain to expect what you desire and there are no doubts. The more times you program your mind with different scenarios, the easier it is for you to start expecting amazing things to happen to you automatically. Every once in a while, I will start to doubt myself or I allow someone else's fears to blind me for a moment. When this happens I simply repeat these phrases to myself as many times as I need until I feel better: " The situation is already healed.", "The universe always works in my favor.", "Everything that happens is for my highest good.", "Everything always works out for me.", and/or "People naturally want to help me."
Great things are supposed to happen to you on a regular basis. The universe is only responding to what you put out. What you expect is what you get. You just have to make a conscious effort to expect the best instead of the worst. It just takes a little practice. Remember, practice makes perfect.
Expect great change. See great change
